Goals for 2010

Hmm, well this one is going to take some thought. I have some things in mind for personal crafty accomplishments, as well as business wise, it just hasn't all firmed up yet. I'll have to think on that some more, and somehow figure out how to make a list.

Had a pretty nice holiday(hope yours was nice, too) and trying to stitch on Faces. It's not a project I can put a lot of steady time into, for the mental strain. Not used to that. I'll have to rotate it with easier cross stitch or some other projects.

Made in the USA

So while cruising some other blogs, I realized I really needed to decide about the issue of items being made in the USA. Personally, I don't think it's a big issue, but one bound to come up. I do think I'll be charging fair(expensive) prices, not like dirt cheap. But I don't want anyone to think that little children in some 3rd world country are getting paid pennies for turning out gorgeous handiwork.

So for now, work being put out will be branded as Made in the USA. All work must come from a US postal address. (Territories and APO/FPO acceptable as well.) I know this is a passionate and fun business, but it is a business, and needs to be treated as such from time to time!

This is not meant as a slight to anyone; I know there is some lovely work being created in many different countries. Of course you are still free to join the blog, just realize that the opportunties of selling will be limited to the US. Hopefully, I can rescind that after things take off.

2010 SAL

So I figured for sure I would add more today, although I am a bit distracted. Bifocals, they tell me. Now really.....I feel too young for that. Hopefully I'll be able to stitch better.

Anybody in on the beginning 2010 SAL for HAED? I'm in, picked the mermaid. Just finished Lanarte Apples though(gorgeous but way off center though, sigh), and started on Faces Luna(the profile pic.) I got two more of Jody B's before they were discontinued for the Thanksgiving sale, as well as QS Come Softly(purple!) from CCK, couldn't help it. This is the first time I have tried gridding with Faces, I've always started in the center on other things. I'm not liking it, will probably take the grid out.

Getting started

Ok, this is a real quick start. Do you stitch HAED? How about other challenging XS? Quilt? Bead? Crochet? Etc??? I'm looking for skilled stitchers and other artists/craftspeople.

You should already love what you do. But not enough that you can't part with it! You make it, I sell it. Simple idea, I just know it could take several years to come full circle.

So that's why I am starting now. I'm looking for you if you want to be a part of this venture. I realize these projects can take a lot of investment, in time, energy, and money. So it's no rush. Pick a chart you like(no trademarked items, please) and work at your pace. I know many of you have busy home lives; holidays, kids, other jobs, health issues. Join and share your progress, post pics and stitch progress--I will need to know total stitches on finished XS.

I will post again soon with more details!
